On 28th and 29th of May 2013, Granada (Spain) hosted one of the biggest and most important ICT's events: SPARK 13 - 4th Global Forum on Telecentres. The conference was attended by 1,300 participants from the information and communication technology for development (ICT4D) sector as well as private, public, and non-profit organisations from around the globe. The conference allowed the meeting of the Global Telecentre Network, which has an estimated total of 500,000 telecentres serving approximately 1 billion users worldwide. Hosted in Europe for the first time, Spark was the fourth Global Forum on Telecentres, with previous editions held in Tunisia (2005), Malaysia (2007), and Chile (2011).
Two of the SWSW partner consortium - the project coordinator Stiftung Digitale Chancen and the spanish partner organisation Fundación Esplai - attended the meeting and provided visitors with information related to the project and its activities at the TelecentreEurope.org's stand, located in the HUB area.
